A story made for your family
Bilingual children's books for your family
A bilingual book gives your family two ways into the same story. Magical Book Maker supports books in two languages side by side, with characters, places and traditions you choose.
Choose the languages your family uses
The available book languages include English, Spanish, French, German, Turkish, Arabic, Urdu, Hebrew, Chinese and Japanese. Choose a primary and a secondary language when planning a bilingual book.
For an English-Spanish story, you might follow a child cooking with Abuela. For an English-Arabic story, you might explore a garden with a grandparent. These are starting ideas, not claims about what every family in a culture does.
Keep the first story simple
Start with a small cast, a familiar setting and a short sequence of events. Decide which words you want to repeat, such as colors, ingredients or greetings. Short passages give both languages room on the page.
Example prompt: ‘Make a short English-Spanish picture book about a child and her grandmother baking bread. Use a few repeated kitchen words, keep the story warm and simple, and put the two languages side by side.’
Review meaning as well as spelling
AI can make translation mistakes. Have someone who knows both languages read every page. Check names, idioms, dialect, reading level and whether the two versions tell the same story. You can edit the text directly.
For Arabic, Urdu or Hebrew, check the right-to-left text and punctuation in the reader and downloaded PDF. Look for clipped letters or crowded text after edits. A good-looking draft is not a substitute for a language review.
Read together in the way that works for you
You might read one version first, alternate pages or let a grandparent read in their preferred language. Keep the experience about enjoying a shared story. We do not promise language-learning outcomes.
